Electromagnetic Systems - Aqua
Data Probes
Electromagnetic probe design
has proved to be the make or break for companies concerned with flow
measurement. Over a decade of development and refinement has resulted in
Aqua Data Services producing the most stable and accurate flow meter in
the market today giving you the highest resolution of all enabling you
take the measurements you want.
For
convenience and choice, Aqua Data make two different sizes of probe.
Depending on your application you can choose between the RV2 or the
RV4.
The rugged RV2 us the
general purpose 'workhorse' of the industry measuring 185x49x19mm inc.
spigot.
The RV4 was developed
for any applications requiring a smaller probe measuring 145x30x15mm inc.
spigot.
Cable lengths up to 75m are
available as standard.
Calibration
As the electronic properties of the
components buried within the strong epoxy resin casing of each probe
differ slightly between probes and as the signals that are processed are
so small - 1mm/second = 40nV (i.e. 0.000000040 volts), it becomes obvious
that each probe needs to be 'standardised'.
To ensure you get the quality and consistent
results you need, each probe is individually calibrated at The Solent University
in Southampton, UK.
All of the calibration is carried out in the 80m tow tank, in which the probes each undergo 13
runs at different but accurate velocities. Software logs the results for each probe, and a calibration table is
generated for each probe to automatically and accurately compensate for these variations.

Bespoke Systems - example
A customer approached us with an application to measure the velocity of a
fluid of a fluid 300m below ground level, in a borehole.
The resulting prototype (shown) was developed in partnership with the
customer and is still in use today.
We have since provided a 150m unit to another customer
and similar systems are available as the SENSA -B..
